Open-Source Technology Lead

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Open-Source Technology Lead to manage containerized infrastructure and package ecosystems supporting data science and business intelligence teams. The role encompasses Docker/Kubernetes operations, open source compliance, and multilingual data quality tooling, with responsibility for establishing governance frameworks across R and Python environments.
Responsibilities
- Own containerized infrastructure for open source tooling—building, securing, and maintaining Docker/Kubernetes deployments
- Design and enforce container orchestration strategy including image scanning, signing, versioning, and promotion
- Establish and maintain internal package repositories and mirrors for R and Python dependency management
- Drive open source compliance through license scanning, vulnerability management, and policy enforcement
- Mentor engineers on container best practices and open source governance principles
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years hands-on software engineering with open source technologies and communities
- Deep expertise in both R and Python, including package development and dependency management
- Production-grade experience with Docker, Kubernetes, container registries, and image pipelines
- Demonstrated knowledge of open source compliance, licensing, vulnerability scanning, and SBOM generation
- Experience with package management tools (CRAN, PyPI, Artifactory, Nexus)
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement in cross-functional, Agile environments
Compensation: $94,180 - $114,124
