Job Description Neonatologist – Rapid City, South Dakota Board Eligible or Board Certified Neonatologist Position Overview:A full-time Board Eligible or Board Certified Neonatologist is sought to join an expanding Neonatology program serving the western South Dakota region. The physician will provide high-level care for newborns in a modern Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within a regional tertiary referral and trauma center.Key Responsibilities:•Provide comprehensive care and life support for infants of all gestational ages and weights, including critically ill and premature newborns.•Manage a full range of respiratory support modalities, including conventional and high-frequency oscillation ventilation, as well as inhaled nitric oxide.•Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of pediatric subspecialists, nurses, and respiratory therapists to ensure high-quality, evidence-based neonatal care.•Utilize advanced imaging and diagnostic resources such as CT, MRI, and echocardiography, available on an urgent basis.•Participate in ongoing program growth, quality improvement initiatives, and education of staff and trainees as appropriate.Qualifications: •Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).•Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatology.•Eligible for or possessing a South Dakota medical license.•Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to family-centered care.Compensation and Benefits:•Highly competitive salary with performance incentives.•Signing and retention bonuses.•Paid relocation and moving allowance.•Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.•Paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage.•Annual CME allowance with paid CME leave.Lifestyle and Location:•Located in Rapid City, South Dakota, a family-friendly community known for its scenic beauty and four-season recreation.•Nestled in the foothills of the Black Hills, offering easy access to hiking, fishing, camping, boating, hunting, and other outdoor activities.•Excellent quality of life with a welcoming community and convenient travel options through Rapid City Regional Airport, which offers direct flights to several major cities.
