Automotive Service Writer – Davie, FLJoin Our Team! We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our team in Davie, Florida. As a Service Writer, you will be the key connection between our customers and our technicians. You will be responsible for providing a great customer experience, understanding customers' vehicle concerns, recommending needed services, preparing estimates, and making sure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently. We are looking for someone who is confident, professional, organized, and knowledgeable about automotive repair. If you enjoy working with people, understand vehicles, and know how to build trust with customers, we want to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesGreet customers and provide a professional, friendly experienceListen carefully to customers' vehicle concerns and accurately document their needsCommunicate with customers throughout the repair process and provide updates on vehicle statusReview vehicle inspections and communicate recommended repairs and maintenancePrepare accurate estimates and explain repairs, pricing, and timelines clearly to customersObtain customer approval before repairs are performedBuild and manage computerized repair ordersWork closely with technicians to ensure repairs are diagnosed and completed properlyRecommend maintenance and repairs based on vehicle condition and manufacturer guidelinesFollow up with customers regarding declined or recommended servicesHelp maximize shop sales while maintaining honesty, transparency, and customer trustAssist with parts sourcing and coordinating parts with techniciansPromote current shop specials and available servicesMaintain accurate customer and vehicle recordsHelp maintain a clean, organized, and professional front counter and customer waiting areaAssist with the overall operation of the shop as neededPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum 2 years of automotive Service Writer experience preferredStrong general automotive knowledgeAbility to understand vehicle inspections and explain repairs to customersExcellent customer service and communication skillsStrong sales and customer relationship skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced automotive repair environmentProfessional appearance and positive attitudeStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work effectively with technicians and other team membersExperience with computerized repair orders/shop management software is a plusValid driver's licenseAbility to work a flexible retail schedule, including SaturdaysWhat We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who:Takes pride in taking care of customersCan confidently sell needed repairs without being pushyUnderstands that trust and transparency come firstCan communicate effectively with both customers and techniciansIs motivated to grow with the businessIs dependable, organized, and takes ownership of their workExperience in automotive repair is required.
