Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator will assist the shipping and transportation processes that deliver on time and below cost deliveries. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and updating processes, as well as drive cost reductions. This person will interact with all levels of Medgene and Houdek. This critical role will ensure that all the sites have the information needed for continued operations. This position will report to the Logistics Manager.

The Logistics Coordinator will play a vital role in optimizing the transportation of goods by identifying cost-effective methods while maintaining efficiency and timeliness. This role encompasses overseeing transportation processes to align with organizational requirements and standards.

Work safely and follow all safety and environmental processes of the facility

Strategically plan, manage, and direct domestic and international freight activities across multiple locations

Assist Logistics Manager in requesting, recording, managing booking confirmations

Determine solutions and communicate effectively through challenging logistical situations

Liaise and negotiate with carriers to control and improve costs and services

Comply with laws, regulations and QA policies

Work with internal teams to improve processes and services for efficiencies

Determine areas of improvement in work processes and implement

Knowledge of:

Domestic logistics

International logistics

Negotiating

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and planning skills.

Proficient in MS Office

Ability to:

Follow detailed directions and instructions.

Communicate information clearly and concisely.

Reorganize priorities at the drop of a hat and act accordingly.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers.

Work remotely and on-site as needed - 3 days in office, 2 remote weekly

Education:

Bachelors in Logistics or related fields

2 years of experience in carrier negotiation and election

2 years of experience with domestic dispatching and import/export
