Operations Technician

Scope of the Job: The Operations Technician is responsible for supporting semiconductor wafer processing operations within a cleanroom manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in keeping wafers moving through production by operating equipment, handling materials, performing inspections, maintaining accurate process records, and supporting basic equipment maintenance activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, able to follow standardized procedures, and interested in building a long-term career within semiconductor manufacturing. Duties / Responsibilities: Operate and monitor semiconductor manufacturing equipment (e.g., photolithography, etching, deposition, or testing tools). Load and unload wafers or substrates from process equipment. Inspect wafers and components visually and/or using microscopes or automated systems. Perform minor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Accurately record data in logs or computer systems. Follow detailed work instructions, process documentation, and cleanroom protocols. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and contamination control. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to report and resolve production issues. Adhere to safety procedures and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required. Required Skills & Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or similar regulated production environment. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn production software systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions precisely. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn new processes. Comfortable working around chemicals and manufacturing equipment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Reliable attendance and commitment to quality workmanship. Additional Preferred Skills: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Science, or related field. Semiconductor manufacturing experience. Experience handling wafers or working in a cleanroom environment. Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or laboratory operations. Knowledge of ISO 9001, cGMP, GMP, or other regulated manufacturing standards. Background working with chemicals or chemical processes. Experience with statistical process control (SPC) concepts. Personal Skills: Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Quick learner with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Team-oriented and collaborative mindset. Technical Skills: Able to process wafers in a flexible development environment Able to operate multiple metrology tools Work Environment & Physical Requirements Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Work primarily in a fully gowned cleanroom environment. Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, face shields, and steel-toe shoes. Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Handle wafers, tools, and manufacturing equipment daily. Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
