Per Diem - The Security Officer will provide a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors and staff of Wellbridge. This position is eligible for applicable shift pay differentials.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform roving patrol of the buildings and grounds as scheduled.
• Assist with new patient entry and security procedures
• Screen all visitors to the campus at designated guard booths and stationary entry posts.
• Assist intake/admissions team with new patients to the campus: recording personal belongings, calming families using de-escalation techniques and assisting with physical restraint as directed by medical personnel.
• Monitor security cameras and alarms, looking for unusual occurrences and situations
• Investigate reports of missing property, take information and file report internally.
• Enforce all campus safety policies and procedures: no-smoking, no contraband, no alcohol/drugs or paraphernalia. Assist medical staff with inspection of rooms, confiscation and appropriate logging and disposal of same.
• Maintain key control and access control on the Campus.
• Safely transport patients using company vehicle, as needed.
• Maintain a safe and caring environment, delivering care in a culturally sensitive manner and consistent with Wellbridge mission, vision, and values

Essential functions:

For patient care needs, this is an on-site role. This person consistently moves inside and outside campus areas and stands and sits for extended periods of time. Must be able to observe and inspect areas to maintain facility safety and security. Works in indoor and outdoor conditions. Move up to 50lbs with or without assistance. Communicates clearly verbally to inform and exchange information.

Qualifications:

• 8-hour and 16-hour OJT NYS Security Guard Program certification required
• Prior law enforcement experience preferred
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Must hold a valid NYS driver's license and have a clean driving record.
• Strong work ethic, strong situational awareness skills
• Good written & oral communication skills
• Knowledge of cameras, multiplexers and integrated security alarm systems preferred
• Knowledge of de-escalation and non-violent crisis intervention practices
• Hospital/healthcare security experience is preferred
