Registered Nurse, Float Per Diem. Responsibilities Maintains competencies and is cross‑trained staff assigned each shift for census fluctuations or periods of time for replacement. Assumes the responsibility of the professional clinical registered nurse and the position‑specific requirements of the clinical area assigned. Provides flexible staffing to meet patient care area needs. Interprets and operates cardiac and other invasive and non‑invasive monitors, recognises normal/abnormal rhythms and trends, and institutes appropriate interventions. Attends in‑house codes and rapid response calls as required. Cares for patients with complex needs including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients. Initiates and maintains complex IV therapy, including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, central IV catheters, dialysis catheters, and arterial lines. Uses less invasive, life‑supporting modalities (e.g., BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure‑based CO/CI & SVO2 monitor, core temperature monitors). Qualifications 1‑2 years of critical‑care experience, preferably in Intensive Care Unit, Step‑Down, Stem Cell, or Emergency Department Telemetry. Telemetry competency – ability to read and operate cardiac monitor, recognise normal/abnormal rhythms, and institute appropriate interventions. Graduate of NLNAC or CCNE School of Nursing, licensed in the state of IL. Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association, maintained during the position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified (as appropriate for population served). ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certified within 6‑12 months of hire.
