Location: Lewis Cass Early Learning Academy

Date Available: 1/2022

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned:

• Must have a CDA, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Must be at least 18 years of age, (must be 21 years of age to work with infants)
• Prior Childcare experience preferred
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified - or willingness to obtain (must renew yearly)
• Knowledge of Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana licensing standards preferred
• Willingness to learn is a must
• Professional dress and appearance is a must
• Must be competent in language arts and math
• Ability to interact professionally with adults and children with a positive attitude
• Maintain confidentiality on job related tasks
• Must be willing to learn, set professional goals, and participate in job related training

Performance Responsibilities: Others may be assigned:

• Ensure the smooth operation of the classroom in a calm and consistent manner
• Maintain a clean and safe classroom
• Ensure the classroom meets all Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana State licensing standards
• Classrooms must be in compliance at all times
• Strictly adhere to Safe Sleep guidelines for Child Care Centers
• Monitor student's progress; communicate milestones with parents
• Administer record keeping on all children; including but not limited to daily records, monthly observations, and bi-annual progress reports
• Use curriculum effectively and write lesson plans based on each child's ability and developmental level
• Maintain rapport with parents

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
