The RN will assess patients' physical and psychosocial needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and promote a safe therapeutic environment. Key Responsibilities Assess, monitor, and document patients' physical and psychosocial conditions from admission through discharge. Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Coordinate daily patient care and communicate clinical concerns to appropriate supervisors. Respond to emergencies and manage agitated patients in accordance with facility protocols. Educate patients and families regarding medications, procedures, and treatment goals. Complete nursing notes, transfer forms, medication monitoring records, and other required documentation. Promote patient safety, infection control, and compliance with facility policies. Collaborate with clinical staff and provide support to maintain a safe and effective care environment. Advocate for patients while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards. Required Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution. Active Indiana RN license or RN license from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state at the time of submission. Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Strong critical-thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage stressful situations and respond appropriately to emergencies. Ability to interpret and follow nursing standards, medical orders, and facility policies. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations. Cerner EMR experience preferred; Epic experience will also be accepted. Current CPR certification. Current behavioral intervention or Bridge Building training. Note: CPR certification and behavioral intervention training may be provided during orientation, as applicable. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical activities required for patient care. Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and maintain awareness of potential safety risks. Willingness to work in a state-operated hospital setting with potential exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials. Ability to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety protocols.
