Job Title: Social Worker

Salary: $55,000 - $68,000

In accordance with WGSD Licensed Salary Schedule, GCBA-E2

Work year: 176 Days


Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Social Worker to join our team of highly dedicated teachers and support staff in providing the best educational experience for our students. This is a three-year grant-funded position through the School Health Professionals Grant.


Qualifications:

• MA degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
• Previous school social work experience preferred.
• Strong student assessment skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Interpersonal relations and collaborative teaming skills
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Calm demeanor during crisis situations
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds

Essential Functions:

• Support the District's School Health Professional Grant program and goals.
• Provide individual and group counseling, mental health services, and social-emotional and behavioral interventions to support students' academic progress and overall well-being.
• Develop and implement individual, group, classroom, and school-wide interventions to address students' academic, social-emotional, behavioral, attendance, and mental health needs.
• Provide direct services to students receiving special education and 504 services, including services aligned with IEP goals and other identified student needs.
• Conduct social, emotional, behavioral, adaptive, and other appropriate assessments to identify student needs and determine appropriate interventions and services.
• Collect and analyze student data; conduct observations, interviews, and record reviews; and assist with the development of Functional Behavioral Assessments, Behavioral Intervention Plans, IEP goals, Educational Impact Statements, and evaluation reports.
• Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation, including progress reports, service logs, progress monitoring, assessment reports, and other student records.
• Provide crisis intervention and support, including conducting suicide risk assessments, assisting with threat assessments, developing and implementing safety plans, and responding to student mental health and safety concerns.
• Identify and report suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with applicable laws and District procedures.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, special education staff, and other school personnel to develop and implement comprehensive student support plans.
• Participate in IEP meetings, special education team meetings, manifestation determination reviews, MTSS, behavioral health teams, professional learning communities, staff meetings, and other collaborative meetings as assigned.
• Consult and collaborate with outside service providers, community agencies, and other professionals to coordinate services and connect students and families with appropriate resources.
• Work collaboratively with students, families, school staff, and community partners to address home, school, and community factors that may affect student adjustment, attendance, behavior, well-being, and educational progress.
• Provide consultation, resources, psychoeducation, training, and professional development to students, families, teachers, and staff related to mental health, social-emotional learning, behavior, and student support.
• Support school-wide efforts related to student engagement, attendance, behavior, social-emotional well-being, and positive school climate.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential student records and protect student and family information in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and District policies.
• Participate in required professional development and maintain current knowledge of school-based social work, mental health, special education, behavioral interventions, and student safety practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
