Paramedic - Correctional Medicine 60 hrs biweekly Dave/Eve Location: County Correctional Biweekly Hours: 60.00 Shift: 0645-1515 Summary: The MetroHealth System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being. As a Paramedic in Correctional Medicine, you will perform direct patient care under the direction of a Physician, Advanced Provider, or charge nurse, and perform administrative, clerical, and clinical duties as assigned. You will comply with MetroHealth policies, maintain patient safety and confidentiality, document care accurately and timely, and uphold the system's mission, vision, values, and customer service standards. Responsibilities Perform direct patient care under the direction of a Physician, Advanced Provider, or charge nurse. Perform administrative, clerical, and clinical duties as assigned. Comply with MetroHealth System policies and procedures. Maintain patient safety and confidentiality at all times. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care reflecting the patient’s condition, treatment, and response. Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System. Qualifications High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Current certification by the State of Ohio as an EMT-Paramedic. Minimum one year of experience as a Paramedic. Current certification in BLS from the AHA and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Physical Requirements May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
