Verifies benefits, calculates the patient's financial liability, validates demographic information, and performs point of service collections. Communicates essential information regarding the scheduled service to the patient.Key Accountabilities:Pre-registers patients including obtaining and validating demographic and insurance information while maintaining a 95% quality rating and meeting appropriate productivity metrics.Processes patient pre-registrations and admissions timely and accurately.Reviews and completes identified tasks in the ADT system.Verifies patient insurance and benefits.Creates patient estimates to determine the patient's financial liability.Collects and processes payments from patients.Reconciles payments made within the day.Answers phones, takes appropriate action, and forwards when necessary to appropriate departments.Qualifications:High School diploma or GED preferredMust be 18 years of agePhysical Demands:Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistanceJob classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job dutiesWork Environment:Normally works in climate controlled office environmentFrequent sitting and standing with movement throughout work spaceOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shockOccasional high noise level in work environmentPossible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agentsOccasional contact with aggressive and or combative patientsUse of computers throughout the work dayFrequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingersThis position involves frequent phone communication with patients and staff.
