Classroom Teacher (Gifted)

Qualifications: Valid Mississippi Teaching Certificate with a Gifted Endorsement. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of five years teaching experience required. Record of positive classroom experience. Knowledge of Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards. Ability to conduct professional development for teachers and administrators. Ability to disaggregate, interpret and analyze assessment data. Success working collaboratively with colleagues. Success in developing and implementing intervention programs. Communicate effectively with administrators, principals, teachers, and parents both orally and in writing. Considerable knowledge of the school board policies and procedures, and standards regarding K-12 education.

Reports To: Superintendent of Education, Principal, Assistant Principal and other designated supervisor.

Job Goals: To provide students with academic skills necessary to function in daily living, for achieving success on state and national achievement tests, and to serve as a foundation for learning at the next grade level.
