Operating Room/Surgery Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

This position requires a shift of 4 days, with 10-hour workdays.

Position Overview

The qualified Operating Room/Surgery Registered Nurse will practice independently in a clinical setting, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of all relevant aspects of patient care. The role involves providing both routine and complex care and developing long-range goals or plans. The nurse will manage clinical contingencies effectively, making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers.

Responsibilities

Meet expectations of applicable competencies, including leadership skills.
Provide nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, employing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, according to the nurse's level of practice.
Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring patients for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care administered accurately and thoroughly.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying opportunities for improvement and resources available.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

BLS certification via AHA is required.
Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact state license is required.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a work schedule of 4 days, totaling 10 hours per day.
