Position Description Position Description: Surgical Technologist First Assistant Key Responsibilities As defined by the American College of Surgeons, Surgical Assistants (SAs) are trained individuals who are able to participate in and actively assist the surgeon in completing the operation safely and expeditiously by helping to provide exposure, maintain homeostasis, and other technical functions. Position Details Location: Mease Countryside Status: Full Time, Exempt: No Shift Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Weekend Work: Occasional On Call: Yes Requirements Minimum of 3 years experience as a Surgical Tech OR 2 years as a Surgical Technologist First Assistant – main OR experience. High School diploma or equivalent. BLS certification with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Specific Skills Delegation, interpersonal, customer service, written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to the position; computer skills; medical terminology use and understanding. Preceptor skills; teamwork; ability to work independently. Organizational skills; critical thinking.
