Pediatric Audiologist

We are currently searching for a Pediatric Audiologist to lead our Children’s Center at our downtown Los Angeles location. The Pediatric Audiologist will provide diagnostics, hearing aid and cochlear implant evaluations to children from birth on, counsel parents and patients regarding test results, and review options that best meet their hearing care needs. House Clinic is world-renowned for its expertise in hearing health care. Qualified candidates will be a Master’s or Doctorate level Audiologist (Au.D), have a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A), and be appropriately licensed in the state of California. Position Summary The Pediatric Audiologist is responsible for independent evaluation, diagnosis and interpretation of hearing disorders. The audiologist will provide hearing aid and cochlear implant evaluations to children of all ages. The audiologist counsels parents and patients regarding test results and reviews options that best meet their hearing care needs. They will be expected to liaison with other professionals such as SLPs/AVTs, educators, physicians and teachers to evaluate and monitor the child’s progress and develop a comprehensive family-based hearing health plan. Primary Job Functions Perform comprehensive audiometric evaluations to determine the type and degree of hearing loss in order to provide the basis for developing a treatment course Perform Auditory Evoked Potential Testing Perform Immittance Audiometry and Otoacoustic Emissions Testing Coordinates and interprets test results Completes chart notes for each patient seen and sends written report to appropriate healthcare providers Manages Hearing Rehabilitation Collaborates with allied medical professionals such as SLPs/ AVTs to assist in managing treatment course and monitoring progress. Confer with physicians in the medical treatment of hearing loss. Design, develop and implement auditory rehabilitation programs using evidence-based practice. Counsels patients and parents regarding test results. Makes recommendation regarding audiological treatment options. Recommend the most suitable hearing aid technology options or cochlear implant for the patient. Provides hearing aid dispensing, including selection, fitting, verification, ear-mold acoustics, ongoing management with follow-up, and education. Provides cochlear implant mapping for Advanced Bionics, Cochlear, and Med-El Cochlear implants and is well versed on ancillary compatible accessories Performs hearing aid repairs and assists patient/family in troubleshooting the cochlear implant. Provides counseling on Assisted Listening Devices (ALD’s). Performs hearing aid checks and cleaning. Administrative Duties In partnership with Clinic and Foundation leadership, assist with planning and logistics related to setting up clinical operations. Create billing systems. Execute specific details of HCHC work plan. Create systems, policies, and procedures. Coordinate with House Clinic staff as needed. Assist with coordination of equipment and space needs. Assist with additional HCHC recruitment. Additional Duties Involved in clinical quality outcomes. Provides excellent customer service and maintains good public relations. Shares administrative duties with colleagues as needed. Exercises confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work area. Attends all regular staff meetings. Performs all other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Education, Job Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Master’s Degree in Audiology or Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) Must have Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) or eligibility. Must hold a California Dispensing Audiology license and NPI number. A strong commitment to advancing The House Institute’s mission and values. Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population. Experience with EMR systems a plus. Must be detail oriented, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong Hearing Aid and Cochlear Implant programming experience. Must be able to organize time and prioritize numerous duties within strict deadlines. Entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude. Must deal with all patients in a caring and respectful manner.
