This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. It involves delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, ensuring quality patient outcomes, respecting cultural and religious diversity, and contributing to unit and department strategic goals. The role supports the company’s philosophy of nursing and demonstrates professional responsibility for one’s own practice. It is not exhaustive; duties may be added or amended at any time. Education Required – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Work Experience Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Required – None. Certifications Required – Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred – Certification in a clinical specialty area. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Job Duties Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines. Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly, serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes. Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and professional nursing improvement. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, introducing oneself appropriately, explaining services or procedures, and communicating in a suitable style. Work is beyond sedentary and may require walking, standing, pushing or pulling materials, and maintaining a production rate pace. Duties performed routinely may expose the employee to blood, body fluid and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area with potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste, including receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and disposal of contaminated waste.
