Maintenance – Collingwood Community UMH Properties, Inc. is hiring a full-time Maintenance team member for the Collingwood Community. This role provides overall community groundskeeping, maintenance, and repairs to community-owned homes and lots. Maintenance employees must uphold UMH standards for professionalism, quality, and safety in all work performed. Responsibilities Drive UMH vehicles through the community to inspect all common areas. Record violations observed during daily inspections. Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots. Maintain community grounds (mowing, weed eating, debris removal, snow plowing, sidewalk shoveling). Keep work areas clean and safe; dispose of trash in approved containers; wipe up drips/spills; store tools after use; keep aisles, exits, fire extinguishers, electrical panels, and switches clear. Ensure company vehicles and equipment are maintained and serviced regularly. Take daily readings from the water plant and inspect pump stations, well-houses, and treatment plants as required. Keep a log of all work performed in the community. Complete periodic safety trainings and work with hazardous chemicals per the Company Hazard Communication Program; operate heavy equipment and power tools safely. Follow lockout procedures for energy-isolating devices during maintenance or servicing of machines or equipment. Communicate professionally with coworkers, managers, and residents. Assist with new home installations as needed (e.g., connecting sewer/water lines, affixing skirting, decks). Perform other duties as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities. Qualifications Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record. Experience in home repairs, general plumbing, grounds maintenance, and operation of heavy equipment. Snow plow experience. Ability to prioritize safety and attend periodic safety trainings. Strong time management and teamwork skills; able to work independently. Physical Requirements Stand for most of the workday and occasionally lift objects over 20 pounds. Occasionally kneel and crawl to perform maintenance tasks under homes. Use of power tools and hand tools; operate heavy equipment as needed. Work Environment Work both indoors and outdoors in varying climates and conditions. Exposure to uneven terrain, insects, animals, and outdoor elements. Work Schedule Full-time, typically Monday through Friday, around 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required on a regular or rotating basis, including weekends and holidays. Overtime responsibilities may include responding to emergencies in the community. In-person attendance is an essential function of this position. Compensation Compensation details: 18-20 Yearly Salary.
