Our team is built on expertise, accountability, and a drive to deliver when it matters most.Role OverviewThe Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of freight within our Houston warehouse facility. This role requires a certified forklift operator with hands-on experience handling hazardous materials in a compliance-driven environment. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their workspace, operates with precision, and upholds the highest standards of safety and accuracy.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate sit-down, stand-up, and/or reach forklifts to move, stage, and store freightLoad and unload inbound and outbound shipments safely and efficientlyConduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues immediatelyMaintain safe travel speeds and adhere to all warehouse traffic protocolsIdentify, handle, and store hazardous materials in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and IATA regulationsVerify hazmat documentation including shipping papers, labels, placards, and markingsFollow proper segregation and storage requirements for hazmat freightParticipate in hazmat incident response procedures when applicableReceive, inspect, and verify inbound freight against shipping documentationPick, pack, and prepare outbound shipments accurately and on timeMaintain accurate inventory counts and support cycle count activitiesKeep warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standardsOperate warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanners to record freight movementAssist with wrapping, labeling, and staging freight for outbound dispatchFollow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety protocols at all timesWear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Report unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents to the supervisor immediatelyParticipate in ongoing safety training and compliance programsQualificationsRequiredValid forklift certification (must be current and verifiable)Minimum 2 years of forklift operation experience in a warehouse or freight environmentHands-on experience handling hazardous materials with working knowledge of DOT hazmat regulationsAbility to read and interpret shipping documents, bills of lading, and hazmat paperworkStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shiftPreferredDOT Hazmat certification or HAZWOPER trainingExperience in a freight forwarding, 3PL, or logistics warehouse environmentFamiliarity with WMS platforms or RF scanning equipmentOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationKey CompetenciesSafety-first mindsetHigh attention to detailDependability and punctualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and situational awarenessAbility to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentWorking ConditionsFull-time, Houston warehouse basedPhysical role requiring standing, lifting, and operating equipment throughout the shiftExposure to varying warehouse temperatures and conditionsWeekend availability may be required based on operational needsWhat Matters to YouPay: Commensurate with experienceMedical | Dental | Vision | Basic Life and AD&D Insurance | Paid Time Off | 401KEqual Opportunity EmployerWe are an equal opportunity employer.
