What Do Aquatic Technicians Do? The primary purpose of this role is to preserve the natural ecological balance of aquatic ecosystems while providing clients with superior value and expertise in the field. Responsibilities Operate a motorboat multiple times throughout the day and attach it to an assigned vehicle. Treat water for algae, submersed weeds, shoreline weeds, non‑desirable buffer vegetation, and other unwanted vegetation. Obtain water samples when required and send them to the lab for water quality analysis. Provide superior service and fulfill all company contracts, service orders, and related customer needs. Remove nuisance or invasive vegetation through manual removal efforts, as needed. Work with experienced aquatic specialists to gain knowledge in water‑body management. Communicate effectively with customers to discuss service details. Essential Job Functions Follow established procedures and practices. Commit to all health and safety guidelines. Demonstrate effective verbal and listening communication skills. Pay close attention to detail and maintain a high level of accuracy. Be mechanically inclined (preferred). Operate trailers and aquatic vessels (preferred). Have knowledge of aquatic vegetation (preferred). Carry out strenuous physical exertion, including driving, standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and crouching as required. Lifting up to 50 lbs. What Do You Need? High school diploma or GED. 1‑2 years of experience working independently in an outdoor environment (preferred). Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Strong written and verbal skills. Availability to work Monday–Friday and weekends as needed. Possession of a valid driver’s license from the state of residence. Work Conditions Mostly outside without protection from weather; extreme heat (above 100°F) and/or cold (below 32°F) for more than one hour. Hazardous physical conditions such as mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, chemical exposure, and/or high heat. Atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system, skin, or breathing, including fumes, mold, mist, gas, and poor ventilation. Exposure to animals and insects. Meet physical requirements and/or pass medical certification in compliance with state and/or federal regulatory requirements and company safety policies regarding personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to an OSHA‑compliant respirator.
