Special Needs Attendant

Vivalon is looking for a Special Needs Attendant for Marin Routes!

Vivalon is a Marin-based non-profit serving the community for 70 years and has been recognized 8 times as a "Best Place's to Work" in the North Bay, and our most recent 2025 award as "Best Social Organization" from the Marin Independent Journal.

The attendant performs a variety of tasks to support the driver in providing safe and proper transportation for our adult clients with disabilities. We provide full training and an excellent team-oriented work environment.

This job is a full-time position, Monday through Friday working approximately 6-hour days (split shifts).

Starting pay is $23.00 per hour.

Successful candidates will be able to:

• Supervise and assist clients in transit.
• Assist the driver in the proper loading and unloading of passengers.
• Know the appropriate use of securing devices for safety restraints, wheelchairs, and seat belts.
• Demonstrate understanding and empathy for persons with disabilities.
• Enjoy working with people of all ages and be sensitive to their needs.
• Display professional behavior when working with clients, co-workers, and community members.
• Follow all health and safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Report any client concerns to the driver and the appropriate management staff.
• This Safety Sensitive position requires the ability to pass a background check.

Requirements:

• Friendly & reliable plus excellent customer service skills and a desire to help others
• Valid California Driver's License or California ID Card
• Provide 2 professional references
• Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen and submit to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with federal law throughout employment
• Candidates considered for this role must be 21+
