LVN / LPN Profession: LVN / LPN Specialty: Telemetry

LVN/LPN needed for a telemetry specialty unit. Candidates must possess recent Med Surg experience. MS/Tele experience is preferred. Proficiency in heparin drips, IV starts, lab draws, and Epic documentation is required. The position involves a night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:00, with 4 shifts per week. Floating between units may be required. Every third weekend is required. The patient population includes elective joint replacements, fractures, trauma, back/neck surgeries, post-op craniotomy, seizures, and strokes. Charge nurse responsibilities will be expected on every shift. Telemetry patients will be cared for, with limited IV medications and sedation procedures. Special equipment used in this unit includes bucks' traction and hoyer lifts. Interdisciplinary support is provided by physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills and be able to monitor and interpret patients' vital signs. Experience in emergency department settings, blood glucose monitoring/testing, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion, and oxygen administration is advantageous. Isolation precautions and PPE protocols must be adhered to rigorously. Candidates should feel comfortable working with patients of various ages including adults and geriatrics. This position requires attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
