HR Assistant

Description Mills Automotive Group is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR Assistant to support our Human Resources team. This position plays an important role in our hiring process by coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, processing background checks, verifying references, and assisting with a variety of HR functions. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while providing a positive experience for candidates, employees, and hiring managers. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Hiring Coordination Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers. Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process, providing updates and ensuring a positive candidate experience. Assist with job postings, applicant tracking, and candidate follow-up. Process pre-employment background checks and review result in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Conduct employment reference checks and document results. Assist with preparing and coordinating offer letters and other pre-employment paperwork. Track candidate progress and help ensure timely completion of hiring requirements. Human Resources Support Assist with onboarding new employees, including paperwork, documentation, and coordination of new-hire requirements. Maintain accurate and organized employee records and confidential HR files. Assist with employee documentation, HR forms, and personnel file updates. Support the HR team with employee changes, status updates, and other routine HR transactions. Help respond to general employee and manager questions or direct inquiries to the appropriate HR team member. Assist with special projects, reporting, and other HR initiatives as needed. Qualifications Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional, friendly, and responsive approach to working with candidates and employees. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow through consistently. Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications. The starting hourly pay rate range for this position is $17.00 – $19.00+ and will be evaluated based upon relevant skills, training, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
