ARG is one of the largest hardware retailers in the United States and has two headquarters located in Lenexa, KS and Farmington Hills, MI. The Assistant Manager manages overall store operations and the achievement of company goals and directives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Provide positive representation of Ace Retail Group
• Proactively assist customers in solving problems
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store; thank them when leaving
• Provide a friendly, outgoing demeanor and work well with customers and associates
• Ensure all calls and pages are answered promptly and courteously
• Resolve customer issues with Ace Retail Group's best interest in mind
• Maintain strong product and store layout knowledge

Store Operations

• Ensure a positive, professional, and safe work environment
• Supervise general operations of the store
• Open and close the store as needed
• Assist with Store Support Center program implementation
• Ensure Loss Prevention, Safety, and Audit success
• Partner with the General Manager on store operations
• Participate in weekly management meetings
• Communicate issues to Store Support Center with GM approval
• Assist with district projects from the District Manager
• Implement Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor areas
• Ensure price changes and labels are accurate and timely
• Oversee associate training, audits, and reporting
• Manage preventative maintenance and repairs
• Monitor competitor activity
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Skills, Requirements and Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to compute ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs
• Ability to work independently
• Flexible work schedule
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to foster teamwork and motivate others
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally with assistance

Compensation Details

$22.00 per hour
