Our nimble, decentralized culture can provide you with a wealth of opportunities to learn about our business and quickly gain experience to accelerate your career.This position is an onsite role based out of our Richmond, VA office.About youA Junior Property Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of a commercial real estate portfolio, assisting with accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.In this role, you willAssist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for properties.Process accounts payable and receivable related to property operations.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and supporting month-end close activities.Review invoice coding, approvals, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance prior to posting.Partner with Property Managers, tenants, and vendors to address accounting inquiries and resolve financial issues.Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies.Communicate with property managers, tenants, and vendors regarding financial matters.What you'll bringMinimum of 1 years of progressive property accounting experience within the commercial real estate industry.Proficiency with Yardi, AvidXchange, or similar property management and accounting software.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Pursuant to local law, Colliers is disclosing the following information:Area/Location Specific: Richmond, VirginiaApproximate Compensation Rate for this Role: $21.83 to $22.50/hrOur compensation ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all national locations.
