Bring Your LPN Experience to Emergency Nursing

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our Level 1 Emergency Department on the Full-Time Day Shift.

This is a fast-paced acute-care environment caring for patients with urgent, emergent, and complex medical needs. We're looking for LPNs who can provide strong hands-on care, work effectively as part of an emergency nursing team, and respond confidently when patient needs and priorities change quickly.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide direct nursing care within the LPN scope of practice
• Obtain and document vital signs and clinical information
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Perform clinical procedures appropriate to LPN scope and competency
• Observe patients and promptly report changes in condition
• Assist with specimen collection, testing, treatments, and patient care
• Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other members of the Emergency Department team

Requirements

What You Need

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program

Current New York State LPN license

Current American Heart Association BLS certification

Minimum 1 year of clinical LPN experience

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care environment

Ability to work weekends and holidays as required

Emergency Department, hospital acute-care, urgent care, or other high-acuity clinical experience is strongly preferred.
