Job Description:

Typical Day in the Role
• Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to work on Windows security by identifying and reducing security gaps in the operating system, particularly through initiatives like NTLM-less and Secure Future Initiative (SFI) work.
• Key projects: This role will contribute to building and enhancing test frameworks, creating automated test cases, executing them, troubleshooting failures, and supporting security-related initiatives under the Secure Future Initiative (SFI) to make Windows more secure by default.

Hard Skills Assessments
• Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: hard skills assessments will occur during the standard 72-hour sourcing and review cycle after release of the request.
• Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include Microsoft Excel Desktop assessments completed via Teams phone call without video.
• Required Candidate Preparation: Candidates should have their environment ready for completing the Excel assessment and be prepared for scenario-level test automation discussions based on their experience.

Summary:
The main function of a Software Design Engineer is to develop, implement, and document all testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, test execution, defect tracking and reporting, including follow-up and issue resolution.

Job Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• 8-10 years' experience required
• Experience testing software
• Experience writing test documentation such as Test Plans, scripts and test results reports
• Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing
• Preferred but not Required Experience in: operating system, cybersecurity, automation test framework
