Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Coagulation/Urinalysis

Technician – San Diego, CA Labcorp, a global leader in diagnostics, is seeking a Technician to join our San Diego team. This role supports laboratory operations on a Tuesday‑Saturday 2:30am – 11:00am schedule. Job Responsibilities Determine specimen acceptability for testing based on established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with department Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to maintain proper functionality. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem‑solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care. Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control procedures, documenting all activities. Identify and replenish bench supplies as needed. Assist with specimen processing when required. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology. California State Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology. ASCP or AMT certification. Additional Job Standards Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. High attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must pass a standardized color vision screen. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as business needs arise. Pay Pay Range: $26.00 – $31.00 per hour plus shift differential. Benefits Employees scheduled 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), paid time off (PTO) or flexible time off (FTO), tuition reimbursement, and employee stock purchase plan. Employees scheduled fewer than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are only eligible for the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
