Job Summary

W e are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee and manage daily payroll operations while serving as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have strong Workday experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to lead payroll processes while ensuring accurate and timely employee compensation.

Job Description

• Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day payroll and Workday inquiries.
• Collect, review, and verify employee timekeeping information for payroll processing.
• Calculate employee pay based on hours worked, including overtime, paid leave, and other payroll adjustments.
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule by preparing payroll checks and/or administering direct deposits through the banking system.
• Issue payroll statements and invoices as needed while maintaining accurate payroll records.
• Respond to payroll-related questions and resolve concerns from employees and management in a professional and timely manner.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Maintain payroll confidentiality and ensure the integrity of payroll data.
• Support continuous process improvements and assist with payroll reporting as needed.
• Shift: Monday-Friday 8-5pm

Skills Required

• 3–5 years of payroll experience required.
• Hands-on experience with Workday is required.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, timekeeping, overtime, and leave administration.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and leadership.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.

Preferred Skills

• Experience leading or mentoring payroll team members.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Education

• High school diploma required

Pay Rate

• $26 - $36 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
