Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

This unit experiences 45 to 65 births per month, particularly busy in the summer. The team consists of five OB physicians and one certified nurse midwife. There are no circulating C-sections, as the operating room manages those cases. Registered Nurses are expected to care for well babies and postpartum mothers in addition to assisting with labor and delivery. The hospital may cancel shifts up to four times per 13-week contract and three times for 12 weeks or less. Each cancellation may involve a full shift or any part of a shift. Charting is done using the Paragon system.
