As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll consistently perform at the highest level, incorporating other system assessments into care and reliably demonstrating excellent practice and documentation to departmental standards with minimal or no variation. Role Expectations Collaborative Care: manage care and implement treatment plans with patients, families, physicians, and team members. These roles are responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders. Respiratory therapists provide oxygen therapy, manage ventilators, conduct breathing exercises, and monitor lung function to ensure optimal care. Responsibilities include diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients and may involve designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Minimum Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience: None required. License/Certification: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within 90 days of hire; Licensed to practice in Virginia. AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Physical Demands Job requires standing for prolonged periods, walking, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The starting base rate for this role is $33.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by qualifications, previous experience, and/or education.
