Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Intermediate Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit managing diagnoses including chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, and pre/post cardiac catheterization patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently using Nihon Kohden monitoring equipment
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Manage radial bands and perform removal; conduct groin checks following catheterization procedures (sheath pulls not required)
• Manage patients on Tikosyn therapy and other intermediate-acuity overflow patients as needed
• Float as needed to Telemetry or Med-Surg units with ratios up to 1:6 (occasionally 1:7 in Med-Surg)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license; any licensing history must be disclosed at time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Competency in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Ability to work rotating shifts including a required number of weekend shifts (days: minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule with a minimum of 3 night shifts; nights: minimum 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule)
• Flexibility to work holidays as unit needs dictate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Sunrise EMR
• Experience in an intermediate care, PCU, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with Tikosyn therapy management and post-cardiac catheterization care
