Position Summary

A Caregiver/Direct Support Professional (DSP) in at-home and community services provides essential support to individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living, companionship, household management, and community engagement. The role is designed to promote independence, safety, and well-being in the comfort of the client’s home, while also facilitating participation in community activities and social networks. This position does not include hands-on physical care such as lifting or bathing.

Pay Rate : $18-$22, depending on experience. Pay is distributed monthly.

Employment Type : Full-time / Part-time (depending on availability). 20 hours per week are required for the position.

Key Responsibilities (At-Home, Non-Hands-On, Community Support)

•Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and activities

•Assist with meal planning and preparation

•Perform light housekeeping tasks (laundry, tidying, organizing)

•Support clients with scheduling and reminders for appointments, medication planning, and daily routines

•Transport clients to medical appointments, errands, or social outings (if required)

•Facilitate and encourage participation in community events, recreational activities, and social groups

•Support clients in accessing community resources and services (such as libraries, clubs, volunteer opportunities)

•Monitor and report changes in physical or mental health to family or healthcare professionals

•Encourage client engagement in social networks and community activities

•Maintain accurate records of care provided and daily activities

•Advocate for clients’ needs and support their independence

•Implement individualized care or behavior plans and track progress toward goals.

Qualifications

•High School Diploma or equivalent

•Experience in caregiving, home support, or working with individuals with disabilities (preferred)

•First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)

•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (minimum insurance requirements necessary)

•Ability to perform light household tasks and provide emotional and community support

•DSP-specific certifications may be required within a set period after hire. (training options available)

•Willingness to drive up to an hour
