Job Description
The Commercial Electrician plays a critical role in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in commercial buildings, including high school construction projects. This position primarily involves new installations and requires working independently as well as collaborating within large teams of 15 or more. The role emphasizes adherence to electrical codes and safety standards, proficient use of blueprints, and skilled troubleshooting to ensure high-quality electrical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Install wiring and electrical systems for commercial buildings
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
- Run conduit and pull wire according to project specifications
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical work
- Strong electrical wiring skills
- Proficiency in blueprint interpretation
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Expertise in troubleshooting electrical systems
- Commitment to safety compliance
- Experience using testing instruments for electrical systems
