Territory Manager - Personal Lines (CA - Sacramento)

Territory & Location California - Sacramento (covers all of Sacramento and limited engagement through Northern California). You must live within the assigned territory, preferably in or near Sacramento. This role requires frequent travel throughout the territory and regular in-person engagement with agency partners to deepen relationships and drive profitable growth. Key Qualifications Strong background in the independent agency distribution channel Carrier-side sales management experience; a combination of carrier and agency experience is especially ideal Proven ability to lead through influence Track record of building top-line results Key Responsibilities Understand the strategic and operational goals of the assigned territory and partners; identify mutually beneficial solutions using data, analytics, local market information, and competitor knowledge Proactively identify and implement actions to achieve territory goals Lead new business and transfer processes, including identification of new transfers and appointments, setting expectations, managing commitments, and ensuring delivery of new or transferred business production Leverage tools and resources such as Salesforce, Seismic, dashboards, and reporting to increase operational efficiency Gather partner feedback and share continuous improvement opportunities with business partners across the company Collaborate with personal lines, farm geography partners, and other Nationwide counterparts on problem solving, education, promotion, sales practice review, and input Complete the annual planning process, document agreements in Salesforce, and hold partners accountable to agreements Partner with Product, Marketing and other business partners to identify and act on opportunities within the territory Lead portfolio management meetings with partners to ensure alignment with territory goals; monitor portfolio data and analysis to drive profitability and revenue in both top and bottom line growth May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Reporting Relationships Reports to Sales Associate Vice President or Vice President; individual contributor role. Education & Experience Undergraduate studies in general business, insurance, sales, marketing or related fields; degree preferred. Typically eight to ten years of sales or sales management experience, with prior property-casualty or financial services experience desirable. Skills and Abilities Ability to uncover root causes of issues and evaluate risks/benefits of solution options Customer focus – establish and maintain effective relationships Strength in accountability – establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results Situational adaptability – adapt personal and interpersonal behavior on the spot Effective communication – strong presentation and communication skills Planning and aligning – break down objectives into initiatives and actions Drive results, persuade, collaborate and act with courage Job Conditions Frequent travel required with potential for overnight stays. Requires a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
