Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to women and newborns within the labor and delivery unit. Utilizes clinical expertise and nursing judgment to deliver safe, effective care throughout all stages of labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal stabilization.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care using the nursing process.
• Demonstrate competency in clinical skills specific to obstetric and neonatal care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families on pregnancy, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care.
• Adhere to all Standards of Nursing Practice, hospital policies, and safety protocols.
• Manage supplies and equipment efficiently to maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid and current RN license from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience.
• Successful completion of hospital and unit orientation.
• Current BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation, and STABLE certifications.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 per state mandate.
