City/State: New Rochelle, New York Grant Funded: No Department: MNR ER And Unit Clerks Bargaining Unit: 1199 Work Shift: Night Work Days: NIGHTS VARY Scheduled Hours: 7 PM-7:30 AM Scheduled Daily Hours: 12.5 HOURS Hourly Rate: $29.92 Job Summary The nursing technician is a member of a team dedicated to providing the highest quality care and services to our patients by assisting in such functions as maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment; assisting with dietary aspects of care, transporting patients, and assisting visitors. As an integral part of the team, the nursing technician is responsible for activities that promote patient‑focused care within the patient unit. Essential Functions Provides safe direct patient care under the guidance of the professional registered nurse. Provides indirect patient care under the direction of the registered professional nurse according to the patient’s goals and medical care plan. Demonstrates expected conduct, behavior and accountability. Supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization. Maintains responsibility and accountability for own practice. Qualifications High School education required. Customer Service experience. Identification of clinical alarms. Use of patient care equipment (bed alarm, scale, Geri chairs, stretchers, wheel chairs, specialty unit equipment). Knowledge of body mechanics. Isolation precautions. Safety precautions. Aspiration precautions. Communicates using AIDET. Phlebotomy skills. EKG recording. Blood pressure reading. Unit‑based specialty skills to perform job function efficiently.
