Registered Nurse

LCH 3K Behavioral/Medical Observation is a 22-bed observation unit. Our patients are here for a variety of behavioral health reasons requiring hospitalization. On 3K we do cohort most of the children at Levine Children's Hospital with a mental/behavioral health diagnosis. However, because we are a medical observation unit, we can also care for patients with a 1-2 day stay in the hospital. Majority of these diagnosis include IV hydration, rule out sepsis, ortho observation, and surgical observation. Our staff is very passionate about caring for children and teens with behavioral health needs. We have a diverse group of nurses with backgrounds in Adult and Pediatric Nursing, Behavioral Health, and Med/Surg nursing, to name a few. We are all CPI trained and certified. We have championed the Disruptive Patient Star Program at LCH to address the safety issues related to this population. In addition to the nursing staff on 3K, we have psychiatric technicians to help care for our behavioral health population.

Expectations We're Looking For:

• Looking for candidates with a passion for behavioral health, prior experience preferred.
• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience, this position is not for new graduates.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire.

What You'll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
