Summary You will serve as a Computer Scientist in the SE Software Branch, SE Engineering Integration Division, SE Department of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE. Learn more about this agency Duties Help
- You will design, develop, test, and evaluate computer software and perform research to advance the knowledge of support equipment capabilities, functions, capacities and limitations following the Systems Engineering process.
- You will review the work of computer scientists and specialists of lower grade in developing and implementing enhancements and modifications to Avionics CSE and PSE.
- You will perform computer science analysis and design for CSE and PSE projects, especially related to avionics test equipment.
- You will develop new and improved concepts, principles, and techniques that will advance the body of knowledge of computer science and adapt advanced computer science methods and techniques to solve complex computer processing requirements.
- You will provide Software Support Activity (SSA) support, including design changes, maintenance, test and implementation of data analytics, network, cyber security, and support software projects within the assigned system software.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 621, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
