Middle School Science Teacher

Job Summary

St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Gildehaus is seeking a faith-filled, dynamic Middle School Science Teacher for grades 6-8 for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore, discover, and think critically about the world around them while nurturing their faith and character within a supportive Catholic community.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with Archdiocesan and state standards, integrating hands-on experiments, inquiry-based learning, and cross-curricular connections.
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and a love of learning while maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations.
• Incorporate technology and innovative practices to enhance student learning and exploration.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Collaborate with middle school team members and administration to support student success and contribute to a positive school culture.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues to build strong partnerships.
• Participate actively in the spiritual and community life of the school, modeling Catholic values and guiding students in their faith formation.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a Science-related field (required).
• Missouri teaching certification (or the ability to obtain certification).
• Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
• Practicing Catholic preferred, with a willingness to support and participate in the faith life of the school.
• Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Commitment to fostering the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of each student.
