Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with a FL or compact license, EPIC experience, and at least 2 years of emergency department experience for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital treating a combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 12p-12a variable
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, or every other weekend, based on unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed within scope, including potential float to sister facilities
• Hurricane and holiday coverage requirements apply
• Uses EPIC for documentation

Requirements

• Active FL state or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and trauma presentations
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Two supervisory references (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the past year required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required for the period of 10/31-3/31, with medical or religious exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population, including trauma, psychiatric, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
• Responsibilities include triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and isolation precautions/PPE use
• Scrubs must be a solid color with matching tops and bottoms, no logos or prints; candidates may provide their own or wear facility-provided scrubs
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former employees or contracted staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers, with no radius restriction
• All RTO requests must be finalized and submitted prior to consideration; additional RTO requests after the interview are not accepted
• Travel pairs are permitted with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
