Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions in an outpatient surgery center setting
• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, airway, and neurological status during the immediate post-operative recovery phase
• Administer medications and interventions as ordered, responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe patient transitions
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Adhere to holiday coverage expectations, including working 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or compact eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in PACU or post-anesthesia nursing
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery center environment
• Familiarity with a high-volume, fast-paced surgical recovery setting
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills in the post-operative phase
