Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments and noting all changes in physician orders.
• Assists physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes as necessary.
• Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Communicates care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge; makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Delegates tasks to support staff and is willing to precept new RNs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience, with solid background in stepdown or PCU settings.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
• Experience precepting new graduate or newly hired registered nurses.
• Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
