Speech Language Therapist - SLP
MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc
Ignite Voices and Create Connections in the Dynamic Heart of Tennessee – Become Our Next Speech Language Therapist
Imagine your career putting purpose into action as you shape lives through communication. As a Speech Language Therapist in one of Tennessee's thriving metropolitan areas, you will play an instrumental role far beyond just addressing communication and swallowing challenges. You'll unlock potential, boost self-esteem, and foster connections — guiding toddlers as they articulate their first words and assisting older adults in rediscovering their voices.
This position offers a remarkable chance to serve individuals of all ages within an environment that harmonizes outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. From fostering language skills in children to managing adult neurogenic disorders and enhancing cognitive-linguistic abilities in seniors, your passion can thrive in diverse avenues.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing both standardized assessments and clinical observations.
- Create tailored treatment plans focused on both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
- Deliver specialized speech therapy interventions targeting various areas such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise cohesive care strategies.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families, empowering them to support progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Conduct occasional inpatient assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the patient experience.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation consistent with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay abreast of the field's latest innovations via continuing education and collaborative engagement with peers.
Educational Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications Required
- State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be completed within 30 days of employment.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in evidence-driven treatment strategies for all age groups, with a profound understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- The ability to modify therapy techniques to address diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment coupled with superior problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation compliance standards.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Flexible scheduling promoting a balanced work-life dynamic and diverse caseloads.
- Opportunities to specialize in various fields, including pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options available.
- Support for continuing education and professional advancement.
- A collaborative environment focused on providing high-quality care and lifelong learning.
A Journey of Growth Awaits You
In your role, you won't merely deliver speech therapy — you'll become part of a compassionate effort to restore voices, nurture communication, and generate happiness through meaningful interactions.
Your colleagues will be those who regard one another as family, committed to working together in an environment that prizes collaboration over competition. Every patient carries a narrative; we will depend on you to help them articulate their story.
