Senior Nondestructive Testing (NDT) EngineerTukwila, WA$70.67 - $88.46/HourU.S. Citizenship is required by Federal LawWe are hiring a Senior Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Engineer in Tukwila, WA to support aerospace Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) technologies, aircraft inspection procedures, and engineering solutions for commercial and defense aircraft programs, including the 737, 747, 767, 777, 787, KC-46, and B-1B. This 12-month, 100% on-site role requires 10+ years of engineering experience and supports NDE procedure development, reference standards, engineering specifications, emerging inspection technologies, supplier qualification, and NDI methods including ultrasonics, eddy current, and radiography.Responsibilities:Develop Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) procedures supporting airline customer maintenance inspections.Design NDE reference standards to support aircraft inspection procedures.Develop engineering specifications, technical documentation, and other engineering deliverables to meet customer requirements.Evaluate emerging NDT/NDE technologies for potential aerospace applications and business needs.Support the development and qualification of new inspection tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes.Perform routine testing and audits to qualify suppliers against applicable requirements.Support corrective and preventive actions related to materials, processes, tools, and inspection activities.Apply engineering analysis techniques to evaluate performance and identify causes of failures involving tools, materials, parts, and processes.Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into materials and processes, research and qualification activities, work procedures, laboratories, and office environments.Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.10+ years of engineering experience.General knowledge and/or experience with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE).Understanding of basic engineering analysis techniques used to evaluate performance or determine causes of failures involving tools, materials, parts, or processes.Regular and predictable attendance.Ability to work 100% on-site in Tukwila, WA; out-of-state candidates must relocate at their own expense.Preferred Qualifications:5+ years of aerospace engineering experience.5+ years of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience.Experience with CAD systems such as CATIA and SolidWorks.Experience with Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) systems and methods, including ultrasonics, eddy current, and radiography.Experience writing nondestructive inspection procedures for commercial or commercial-derivative aircraft.Knowledge of materials science involving metals and/or composites.Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.Proficiency with computing systems used in engineering environments.Technical documentation and technical writing experience.Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects across geographically distributed locations.Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer.
