Public Housing Assistant

Public Housing Assistant Part time : 24hours Hourly Payrate :$20/hr Contract to Hire Opportunity The Public Housing Assistant functions under the Executive Director and is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the front office and supporting the Public Housing Program. Duties & Responsibilities Manage relationships with residents, provide guidance on leases and the housing program, and resolve resident concerns and issues. Communicate with applicants to answer questions regarding the waiting list. Maintain and organize waiting list applicant documents. Provide referrals to the public on alternative housing solutions. Utilize property management software to maintain accurate records of tenant information, rent payments, and maintenance projects. Perform housekeeping inspections and understand and implement HUD INSPIRE inspection standards. Schedule vendors and maintain good working relationships with service providers. Complete other projects and duties as assigned. Required Skills Some knowledge of housing and community development is preferred. Ability to quickly learn and interpret regulations, policies, and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse populations. Ability to initiate work projects, work independently, and multitask effectively.
