Custodian Position

Now hiring for a Custodian in Spring Grove, IL. The pay rate is $18.00 – $20.00 per hour for the 1st shift, Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3 PM. The role involves keeping our building clean and looking good.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

Previous custodial, janitorial, or facility cleaning experience preferred. Experience working safely in a manufacturing, warehouse, or commercial environment is a plus. Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail.

Job Duties

• Clean and maintain assigned areas through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping surfaces, window cleaning, and trash removal
• Clean, sanitize, and restock washrooms with paper products and supplies
• Clean company vehicles as assigned
• Remove cardboard, waste, and debris to keep the facility organized and safe
• Maintain outdoor areas by shoveling snow, salting entrances, and picking up litter
• Identify and report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to the Manufacturing Services Supervisor
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and work rules
• Assist with additional facility maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience cleaning commercial, industrial, office, healthcare, educational, or manufacturing facilities is preferred. Experience operating floor care equipment, buffers, scrubbers, or other custodial equipment is beneficial. Knowledge of proper cleaning chemical usage, sanitation procedures, and workplace safety practices is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and pride in their work are well positioned for success as a Custodian.

Physical Capabilities

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift. Ability to lift cleaning supplies, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely push, pull, and maneuver cleaning carts and equipment. Ability to work in a variety of indoor environments while following established safety procedures.
