Sage’s Army, Inc. is looking to add a Van Driver to our growing team! Flexibility to work between our two locations (Greensburg and Irwin) is required.

Under supervision, the Van Driver provides low barrier transportation to peers or people seeking services from Sage's Army in a safe, secure, and professional manner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Transporting peers in company vehicles in a safe and professional manner
• Effective communication with supervisor regarding transportation scheduling process
• Maintain a professional image and attitude in regard to peers, visitors, and co-workers
• Must be able to accurately complete activity vehicle log reports
• Complete daily vehicle pre-trip and post trip inspections, and maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Must be able to understand and operate GPS devices and cell phones
• Ability to keep professional boundaries at all times
• Attend all required staff/team meetings
• Use his/her unique recovery experience to teach and role model the value of every individual's recovery experience.
• Maintain effective coping and self-help techniques.
• Investigate community resources and drop off Sage's Army informational fliers
• Maintain confidentiality of participant information
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and ethical conduct with individuals and avoid dual relationships within the community
• Use inclusive, culturally appropriate language and attitudes with all clients and staff
• Assist with and facilitate groups, workshops, and events, as appropriate
• Present at community and school events as appropriate
• Connect individuals to resources and peer support in regard to re-entry services
• Other duties as assigned To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.
• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Self-identify as an individual in recovery. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, be able to use technology and the ability to meet written communication requirements.

Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire.

Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and have no more than 1 moving violation or accident within the past 5 years.

Our mission is to offer support, guidance, and resources to all people who have been affected by substance use while also advocating for people who use drugs (PWUD) by facilitating trainings, educating the public, and ending the stigma about PWUD and people in recovery.

Sage’s Army employs a team of Certified Recovery Specialists and Certified Family Recovery Specialists who have specialized training through the Pennsylvania Certification Board and who have lived experience as people who self-identify as a person in recovery and/or a family member of someone who uses/used drugs. With empathy, compassion, experience, and knowledge, our incredible team provides direct one-on-one peer support to PWUD, people in recovery, and their family members/loved ones by providing support, resources, and a safe recovery environment to enhance the participant’s journey of recovery and wellness.

Our Recovery Centers in Greensburg and Irwin support multiple pathways of recovery by facilitating and hosting a variety of support groups and meetings, such as, All Recovery Meetings, SMART Recovery Meetings, 12-Step Meetings, Family Support Groups, Faith-based Groups, and Grief Groups. Sage’s Army also provides a HelpLine for members of the community that is operated by volunteers and staff members who provide support, resources, and referrals to treatment providers in the region for all levels of care. Our staff provide educational trainings, attend outreach events, facilitate Naloxone trainings, and advocate for person-first language throughout the region.
