Terraform Cloud Engineer

:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Terraform Cloud Engineer that has cycles to take on side projects on demand, for our Data Center managed services team. As a Terraform Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in receiving and establishing technical requirements, designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure as code (IaC) using HashiCorp Terraform. You will collaborate with Data Center Solution Architects specializing in migrating to spine and leaf VxLAN distributed fabrics to standardize the automation and provisioning of infrastructure for our managed services offering supporting on-premise, hybrid and multi-cloud enabled customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

· Develop, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration of cloud resources.

· Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure IaC practices align with organizational goals.

2. Terraform Cloud Management:

· Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Ansible, or other relevant tools to streamline administrative tasks.

· Manage and optimize Terraform Cloud environments to streamline deployment workflows and enhance infrastructure management.

· Implement and maintain Terraform state files, workspaces, and variables for effective resource management.

· Process improvement, automation, monitoring and programming/scripting languages

· Cloud Architecture, Cloud Technologies, Cloud Services, Infrastructure as Code (Azure/AWS experience with Terraform required)

3. Cloud Platform Integration:

· Work closely with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) to integrate Terraform with existing and new cloud-based services.

· Implement best practices for cloud resource tagging, naming conventions, and access controls.

4. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):

· Integrate Terraform with CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and testing of infrastructure changes.

· Implement version control for Terraform configurations and ensure a smooth release process.

5. Infrastructure Optimization:

· Identify and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness of cloud infrastructure.

· Monitor and analyze infrastructure metrics to proactively address potential issues and optimize resource utilization.

· Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, object-oriented technology, data warehousing, and relational database engines.

· Advanced proficiency in analytical, project planning, negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral).

6. Security and Compliance:

· Implement security best practices for Terraform configurations to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of infrastructure resources.

· Collaborate with the security team to address vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

· Proven experience working as a Terraform Cloud Engineer or similar role.

· In-depth knowledge of HashiCorp Terraform and experience with infrastructure automation.

· Ansible CLI or Ansible Tower is a plus.

· Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.

· Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

· Experience with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus.

· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Certifications:

· HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (preferred).

· Relevant certifications from major cloud service providers.

Pay:

$70-80 Per hour, DOE
