Clinical Nurse Vascular Access

Position Overview Clinical Nurse, Vascular Access – full‑time (0.9 FTE) and part‑time (0.6 FTE) night shift (7 pm‑8:30 am) at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Thomas Campus, Phoenix. Provide vascular access services across hospital and outpatient clinics. Responsibilities Perform PICC line insertions, ultrasound‑guided IV placements, and blood draws. Provide vascular access services for pediatric patients; collaborate with providers regarding orders. Complete comprehensive nursing assessments, document patient progress, and share with healthcare team. Ensure compliance with medication, storage, documentation standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with patient care team and families; participate in care rounds and conferences. Mentor students and new employees; deliver orientation and education regarding unit policies. Execute miscellaneous related duties as requested. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with current AZ RN license or valid compact state license applicable to Arizona. Minimum one year of credentialed/licensed nursing experience; experience in vascular access, ICU, CVICU, ER, or trauma settings preferred. Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills. Ultrasound‑guided IV experience required; pediatric experience preferred. BLS certification from the American Heart Association; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required. Valid educational credentials: ADN, BSN, or Nursing Diploma; Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in RN‑to‑BSN program strongly preferred. Physical & Safety Requirements Fine motor skills, hearing, pushing/pulling, reaching, standing, stooping/crouching/kneeling/crawling, walking, near vision, far vision, color discrimination, using keyboard/mouse, lifting up to 35 lbs frequently and more occasionally. Occupational exposure to airborne communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, fumes/airborne particles, radiation exposure, and toxic or caustic chemicals. #J-18808-Ljbffr
